CUrriculum
Samuel Lutheran is a preschool through eighth grade elementary school that provides a quality, Christian education to students of Christ Lutheran Church and the community, nurturing and reaching souls for time and eternity. Samuel offers a comprehensive curriculum taught in modern classrooms equipped with interactive SMART board technology. Smaller classroom sizes allow the teachers more personal interaction with students.
The curriculum consists of the recognized and standard courses taught in any established elementary school. Areas most important for the Christian faith include Bible study, devotions, church history, passage memorization, hymn study, and catechetical instruction. Writing, mathematics, reading, spelling, science, social studies, music, art, and physical education are included in the curriculum. These subjects are all taught from the Christian viewpoint.
Tuition Information
The cost to educate each Samuel Lutheran student is approximately $6,700 per year. Samuel Lutheran offers tiered tuition for members and non-members, adjusted by the number of children enrolled. Full tuition details can be found in the charts below. A 10% deposit is required at registration, with the remaining balance divided into monthly payments (September through May). Hi! My name is Kelsey Larsen. I have been teaching kindergarten for 11 years. This will be my 1st year teaching kindergarten at Samuel. I have a Bachlelor's Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU). I also have my Master's Degree in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership from SMSU. I live in Marshall with my husband, Steven, and my two daughters, Kaylee and Shelby. We also have a dog named, Kobo. In my free time I enjoy playing volleyball, reading, and spending time with my family.
Mrs. Manian
1st & 2nd Grade
My name is Mrs. Renee Manian. I am blessed to be a part of the staff at Samuel Lutheran and to teach your children. I have been teaching for 16 years. I grew up in Wisconsin and was blessed to attend a Lutheran grade school and high school. I attended Martin Luther College and graduated in 2003. My husband, Adam, is the pastor of St. Johns and Peace Lutheran Churches in Vesta and Echo. We have three children--Sam, Anna, and Seth--who all attend Samuel. We also have one dog and two rabbits. I love to read, make art projects, go running, and take bike rides with my kids.
MRS. Mcarthur

Mrs. MacArthur taught grade 3 at Lynd Public School from 1991 – 1993 and has been teaching grades 3 – 5 at Samuel Lutheran School since 1997. She also serves as an organist at Christ Lutheran Church. Mrs. MacArthur enjoys embroidering baby quilts for the grandchildren. Mrs. MacArthur and her husband, Dale, enjoy spending time with their four children, Alexander, Kayla, Isabella, and Samuel, as well as their eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Spanovich
6th, 7th & 8th Grade
I'm Mrs. Spanovich and I teach our amazing 6-8 graders. Middle school is a time of massive growth, and my classroom operates on the truth of Ephesians 2:8–9—that we are saved by grace, not by our own perfect performance. My goal is to create a space where students feel safe to learn, make mistakes, and grow, knowing that their value comes from being a gifted creation of God, not from a perfect report card. I love guiding middle schoolers as they discover their God-given talents and learn how to use them to serve others. When I’m not teaching, you can find me drinking Bubblrs or spoiling my grandchildren.
